Alexandre Padilha, current Minister of Institutional Relations, will be the new Minister of Health.

As a representative of the generic and biosimilar drug industry in Brazil, PróGenéricos recognizes the important work of Minister Nísia Trindade, who played a key role in advancing health policies in the country. At the same time, we welcome Padilha's appointment with joy and reaffirm our commitment to collaborate with the new administration to strengthen dialogue between the government and the private sector.

According to Tiago de Moraes Vicente, CEO of PróGenéricos, the new minister has distinguished himself throughout his career for his extensive knowledge of the challenges and opportunities in the healthcare sector.

Padilha is a physician, congressman, and played an essential role in political coordination between the government and the National Congress. It is worth noting that he was Minister of Health between 2011 and 2014, an experience that made him responsible for implementing fundamental programs, such as Mais Médicos (More Doctors) and the expansion of Farmácia Popular (Popular Pharmacy), which benefited thousands of Brazilians. Padilha was chosen due to his political coordination skills. We know that his experience makes him a key figure in promoting significant advances in the area," says Tiago de Moraes.
